Colombo: The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has announced its plans to offer approximately 3,000 acres of SLTDA-owned lands to tourism investors across the country. The initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance investment and foster sustainable growth within the tourism sector.
According to Nam News Network, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ruwan Ranasinghe, discussed the details during a media briefing alongside the Ministry of Tourism. The focus of the initiative is to streamline investment opportunities, with potential projects including star-class hotels, eco-resorts, wellness retreats, boutiques, and adventure lodges.
SLTDA Chairman, Buddhika Hewawasam, emphasized that selected investors will receive a stipulated development plan along with a strict time plan. This approach underscores the government’s commitment to facilitating investor engagement by simplifying the clearance process.
