Mymensingh: Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Friday assured that a complete level playing field is present in the ongoing election process in Bangladesh, emphasizing that the overall environment remains conducive for fair elections. He stated that candidates are actively engaging with voters and the election atmosphere is apparent throughout the country.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Shafiqul Alam addressed concerns raised by various groups about the fairness of the election process. He asserted that there is no visible evidence supporting claims of an uneven playing field and that the electoral platform is equitable for both major and minor parties, denying any unfair treatment.

The press secretary refuted allegations that the administration is biased towards any political party. He clarified misunderstandings regarding the state mourning declared after the death of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, explaining it was observed because she was a national leader, not just a BNP figure.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Shafiqul Alam mentioned that all necessary measures are in place to ensure a fair election, with no favoritism shown towards any party.

During his visit to Mymensingh, he also toured several religious sites, including Bura Pir’s Mazar and the shrine of Hazrat Shah Sufi Syed Kalu Shah (R), condemning attacks on religious places. He highlighted Bangladesh’s tradition of communal harmony and stressed the importance of mutual respect among different faiths, noting improvements in police morale and enhanced security at religious sites.
