Online Portal Launched to Provide Information on the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ National Programme

Colombo: The official website www.rebuildingsrilanka.gov.lk was launched recently at the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ National Programme, held at the Lotus Hall of the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo. The website has been developed for the government following a proposal by MIT and Dialog, with both institutions jointly undertaking its design and implementation.

According to News.LK, the primary objective of the website is to establish a structured, transparent, and credible platform that brings together the public, the private sector, and the international community to support Sri Lanka’s recovery and rebuilding efforts following the national crisis. Through this platform, local and international donors are provided with facilities to make financial contributions as well as donations of materials, land, and other resources. Donors are also enabled to monitor their contributions transparently, with financial donations made to the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund being updated on a regular basis.

The website further provides the public with continuous access to information on district-wise damage assessments, reconstruction projects funded through donations, progress updates, and official announcements, thereby reinforcing government accountability and transparency. Based on the principles of transparent donation management, social justice, sustainable development, and responsible governance, the initiative aims to strengthen the country’s infrastructure, economy, and livelihoods.

Accordingly, www.rebuildingsrilanka.gov.lk will serve as the central and reliable information hub of the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ National Programme.
