Dhaka: Leaders of seven political parties, including the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP), convened with BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on Wednesday to deliberate on the country’s overall situation and electoral issues. The meetings took place individually at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office, as confirmed by BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the delegations were spearheaded by Bangladesh Jatiya Party-BJP Chairman Andaleeve Rahman Partho, Amjanata Party leader Mia Moshiuzzaman, NAP (Bhashani) leader Azharul Islam, Jono Odhikar Party leader Ismail Hossain Samrat, Nezami Islami Party leader AKM Ashraful Haque, Gonoforum leader Subrata Chowdhury, and Democratic Left Alliance leader Harun Chowdhury. The discussions centered on the country’s overall situation, recent political developments, and matters related to elections.
Later in the day, the newly elected Executive Committee of the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) also visited Tarique Rahman for a courtesy call. The DRU delegation was led by its President Abu Saleh Akon and General Secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel. During this meeting, Tarique Rahman extended his congratulations to the new committee and acknowledged the important role of journalists in facilitating the free flow of information, as noted by Sayrul Kabir Khan.
