Dhaka: The Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) and the High Commission of India in Dhaka commemorated the 85th death anniversary of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore with an evening of music and poetry titled “Iti Rabindranath” on Thursday. The event highlighted the profound impact of Tagore’s work, bringing together individuals to celebrate his legacy through artistic performances.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the program featured renowned artistes Shwapnil Shojib and Samiul Islam Poluck, who performed pieces that honored Tagore’s contributions to literature and culture. These performances underscored the enduring influence of Tagore’s work, which continues to inspire and resonate with audiences across borders and generations.

Among the attendees was Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi, who joined others in paying homage to Tagore’s lasting impact on art and culture. The evening served not only as a tribute but also as a reminder of the shared cultural heritage between India and Bangladesh.
