‘Attama’ Programme Commences Under Clean Sri Lanka Initiative


Dehiwala: The ‘Attama’ programme, part of the Clean Sri Lanka initiative aimed at fostering community participation and collective action for cleaner and more organized communities, began its activities today. The programme’s launch included the participation of Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) in an event held in Dehiwala.



According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, the initiative is designed to enhance community involvement and promote coordinated efforts among government bodies, the Tri-Forces, Police, Coast Guard, and the public to tackle local environmental and community issues. The programme seeks to strengthen partnerships and collaborative efforts across various sectors to address these needs effectively.



The event in Dehiwala saw the participation of officials from the Dehiwala and Ratmalana Divisional Secretariats, members of the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council, and representatives from government institutions. Personnel from the Tri-Forces, Coast Guard, and Police, alongside local residents, were also present, highlighting the programme’s emphasis on community engagement and cooperation.
