Kushtia: Miscreants set fire to a July Memorial in front of Shaheed Abrar Fahad Stadium in Kushtia district town after pouring petrol on it early Tuesday. A video clip of the incident went viral on social media in the afternoon, featuring a man chanting slogans including ‘Joy Bangla’ and ‘Joy Bangabandhu.’ He also mentioned that deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will return to Bangladesh in December.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Almas Hossain, a leader of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, described the incident as a planned act. He claimed that they had received prior information about the potential for such an event and had informed the police beforehand.

Upon receiving the information, Additional Superintendent of Police Pronab Kumar Sarker, Officer-in-Charge of Kushtia Model Police Station Kabir Hossain Matubbar, and other police officials visited the site in the afternoon. The police authorities assured that those involved in the incident will be identified and brought to justice.
