Dhaka: The government has initiated a program allowing students free weekly access to the July Uprising Museum, with schoolchildren permitted to visit without charge once a week. Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman announced this decision during a press conference at the Press Information Department conference room at the Secretariat.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the adviser revealed that a specific day has been designated for student visits to the museum. Under government arrangements, students from higher classes will be taken to the museum. The adviser confirmed that these visits would be free of charge and not limited to students from government schools; all school students will eventually be included in the program.

Zahed Ur Rahman further explained that the initiative extends beyond the July Uprising Museum. Plans are underway to facilitate student visits to the National Museum and other museums in and outside Dhaka. This effort will be managed by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and other relevant ministries.

The adviser also highlighted the strong public interest in the July Uprising Museum since its opening. Initially, there were minor management challenges due to the influx of visitors, but these have been addressed, allowing orderly tours of the museum. The initiative aims to provide students with firsthand knowledge of the nation’s history and heritage, encouraging more frequent museum visits.
