Colombo: Reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to the welfare of war veterans and the families of fallen heroes, Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) chaired the Public Day programme at the Ministry premises today (July 16). The initiative provided vital support to retired and disabled veterans, as well as to the families of fallen heroes, by helping address their grievances and concerns.
According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, during the programme, the Defence Secretary listened attentively to their appeals and instructed ministry officials to take necessary action to resolve the issues raised. He also emphasized the importance of ensuring the effective implementation of welfare programmes related to their well-being.
This event reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to improving the living standards of war veterans and the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
