Colombo: Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) attended a reception hosted onboard Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Taimur as a special guest last evening. The event marked a significant moment in the goodwill visit of the Pakistan Navy to Sri Lanka.

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, PNS Taimur, along with PNS Aslat and the submarine PNS/M Hangor, arrived at the Port of Colombo on 01 June. The visit aimed at strengthening ties and facilitating replenishment activities at the port. The reception was a highlight of this diplomatic naval engagement.

Hon. (Dr.) Jagath Wickramaratne, Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, was present as the Chief Guest, adding to the significance of the occasion. The High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, Major General Nayyar Naseer, HI (M), (Retd), along with Captain Niamat Saeed Khan, Commanding Officer of PNS Taimur, welcomed the distinguished invitees.
