Moratuwa: Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), paid an official visit to the Civil Security Department (CSD) Headquarters in Moratuwa. This visit marks his first to the CSD since taking office.
According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, upon arrival, the Deputy Minister was welcomed by the Director General of the CSD, Major General (Retd) Palitha Fernando. During his visit, the Deputy Minister engaged in discussions with CSD directors and senior officers, where he was briefed on the department’s ongoing responsibilities and future strategic plans. He commended the department for its contributions to national development and the economy.
Addressing the CSD staff, the Deputy Minister highlighted the necessity of cooperation among citizens and public servants to implement government initiatives effectively. He emphasized the values of cooperation, unity, and transparency, underscoring the importance of aligning practical efforts with service roles to build a prosperous nation. He also mentioned the objectives of the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ program.
As part of his visit, the Deputy Minister attended an official gathering at the CSD headquarters, engaging in discussions with department members and holding a focused discussion with the Director General on important mutual matters. A traditional exchange of souvenirs marked the occasion, and the Deputy Minister concluded his visit by writing a note of appreciation in the visitor’s book, acknowledging the department’s dedication and service.
