Dhaka: The government has transferred Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) of eight upazilas with the consent of the Election Commission. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the order outlines new postings for several UNOs. Israt Jahan, previously serving in Patharghata, Barguna, has been reassigned to Char Fashion in Bhola. Md Al-Amin, formerly of Jibannagar, Chuadanga, is now posted to Nagarkanda in Faridpur. Rehena Akhter, from Bhandaria, Pirojpur, will take up her new role in Dhunat, Bogura, while Liton Chandra De from Bahubal, Habiganj, is transitioning to Jibannagar, Chuadanga.
In further changes, Pritilata Barman, the current UNO of Dhunat, Bogura, is moving to Bahubal, Habiganj. Mehraj Sharbin, who was at Nagarkanda, Faridpur, is now set for Kalmakanda, Netrokona. Masudur Rahman, leaving his post in Kalmakanda, Netrokona, will head to Bhandaria, Pirojpur. Md Lokman Hossain, previously stationed in Char Fashion, Bhola, is now assigned to Patharghata, Barguna.
The notification specifies that these officers will also serve as Executive Magistrates in their new jurisdictions, operating under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898. Additionally, it mandates that the transferred officers must assume their new roles by January 22. Failing to do so will lead to their immediate release from their current positions on the afternoon of that day.
