Evacuation of Vulnerable Sri Lankans from Lebanon Arranged Amidst Tensions.


Beirut: The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Lebanon, in collaboration with the International Organization of Migration (IOM), has organized the evacuation of 55 vulnerable Sri Lankan workers from Lebanon. This initiative aims to provide relief and safety to those impacted by the ongoing situation in the region, with evacuations being carried out on a group basis. The upcoming evacuation will see a group of 26 Sri Lankans arriving in Colombo on the evening of December 4, 2024.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Sri Lanka, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Lebanon has expressed gratitude towards IOM in Lebanon for its crucial support in facilitating these evacuations. The embassy remains committed to collaborating with IOM to ensure the continued assistance of Sri Lankans in need, despite the challenging circumstances prevailing in Lebanon.
