FM and State Minister Express Condolences Over Saudi Fire Tragedy


Riyadh: Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam have expressed deep shock and heartfelt condolences over the deaths of 16 Bangladeshis in a fire at a sofa factory in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Sunday. In a statement on Monday, they conveyed their deepest sympathies to the bereaved families and assured them of support during this difficult time.



According to United News of Bangladesh, officials from the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh reached the site soon after receiving news of the fire. The embassy is working closely with the relevant Saudi authorities to identify the deceased and complete the necessary formalities for repatriating their bodies. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the situation and providing necessary assistance.



The ministry stated that once the identification process is complete, necessary arrangements will be made to bring the bodies back to the country with the consent of their families.
