Dhaka: Police arrested an alleged mugger and a fugitive rape accused in separate drives in the capital’s Mirpur and Kakrail areas on Wednesday night and Thursday.

According to United News of Bangladesh, in Mirpur, police arrested an alleged mugger from the Mirpur-10 area around 10 am on Thursday. The arrestee was identified as Ismail Hossain, 26, who is wanted in three criminal cases, as stated by Niaz Mehedi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation, the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police apprehended a fugitive accused in a rape case. This arrest took place near Hotel Rajmoni in the Kakrail area around 8:10 pm on Wednesday. The arrestee, Din Islam Mintu, 44, had been evading law enforcement for the past five years and is wanted in a rape case filed with Bangshal Police Station.
