Dhaka: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions during the next 24 hours commencing 9 am on Thursday. This weather condition is attributed to the active Southwest Monsoon affecting the region.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) issued a warning indicating that rainfall measuring between 44-88mm per 24 hours is expected, with some areas potentially experiencing rainfall exceeding 88mm in the same period. This significant amount of rainfall could lead to landslides in the hilly regions of the Chattogram division. The authorities urge residents in these areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
