Colombo: Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Sri Lanka today, commencing a three-day official visit. The visiting Indian Defence Minister was accorded a warm welcome and received by the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), upon his arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this afternoon. Indian High Commissioner H.E. Santosh Jha was also present on the occasion.
According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, Minister Rajnath Singh is visiting Sri Lanka from 08 to 10 September 2026, leading a high-level delegation comprising senior officials from the Indian Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of External Affairs. During his stay, the Indian Defence Minister is scheduled to meet senior Sri Lankan leaders and hold discussions on matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation.
