Italian Foreign Minister Commends Iraq’s Diplomatic Role in Middle East


Rome: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, H.E. Mr. Antonio Tajani, has sent a congratulatory message to H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein on the occasion of his reappointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Tajani expressed his sincere congratulations to H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, affirming his confidence in the continued strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Italy, and in building upon the partnership and coordination achieved over recent years across various fields.

H.E. Mr. Tajani also highlighted the important role played by Iraq in supporting regional stability, praising the efforts of Iraqi diplomacy under the leadership of H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein in promoting dialogue and building peace in the Middle East, particularly amid the regional tensions witnessed in recent months.

H.E. Mr. Tajani further reaffirmed his country’s continued support for Iraq and stressed that Rome stands alongside Baghdad in
its efforts to strengthen democracy, boost the economy, and support state institutions.

The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs renewed his aspiration to continue joint cooperation with Iraq in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two friendly countries, wishing H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein success in carrying out his duties.
