Dhaka: The government has appointed senior broadcast journalist Kazi Jesin as the director general (DG) of Bangladesh Television (BTV) on a one-year contractual basis, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the notification was issued by the Ministry’s Contract and Foreign Recruitment Wing. The appointment was made under Section 11(2) of the Bangladesh Television Authority Act, 2001. The notification stipulated that Kazi Jesin will serve as the BTV director general for one year from the date of joining. This appointment is contingent upon Jesin relinquishing any other profession, business, or employment with any government, semi-government, private institution, or organization.
The notification further mentioned that the remaining terms and conditions of Jesin’s appointment will be detailed in the contract agreement. Additionally, it emphasized that the order was issued in the public interest.
