Colombo: President Anura Kumara Dissanayake departed the country yesterday evening for a four-day official visit to China. In his absence, five Acting Ministers have been appointed, effective from today, to manage key portfolios under the President’s purview. These include the Ministry of Digital Economy, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, and the Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation.
According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) has been appointed as the Acting Minister of Defence.
