River Ports Directed to Hoist Cautionary Signal No 1 Due to Weather Conditions

Dhaka: River ports in certain regions have been instructed to hoist cautionary signal No 1 as rain or thunder showers, accompanied by temporary south or southeasterly gusty or squally winds, are expected to affect many parts of the country. This directive was issued in a special bulletin by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

According to United News of Bangladesh, the BMD bulletin specifies that rain or thunder showers, along with temporary south or southeasterly gusty or squally winds with speeds ranging from 45 to 60 kph, are likely over the regions of Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar. River ports in these areas are accordingly required to hoist cautionary signal No 1.

The warning for the inland river ports is set to remain in effect until 6 pm on Tuesday, as per the BMD bulletin.
