The meeting centered on the organization’s role in the Government’s ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ programme, which aims to support individuals affected by Cyclone Ditwah. Other key topics included measures for the anticipated El Ni±o conditions and potential projects aligned with the Government’s Clean Sri Lanka initiative.

According to News.LK, representatives from the Buddhist Tzu Chi Merit Organization expressed their commitment to launching health, education, cultural, and humanitarian assistance programs for communities impacted by Cyclone Ditwah. They highlighted their history of support during major natural disasters in Sri Lanka, which was acknowledged by the Secretary to the President, who praised the organization’s ongoing social welfare efforts.

The discussion saw participation from several officials, including Additional Secretary to the President S. P. C. Sugeeshwara, Additional Director General of the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat Kapila Senarath, Director of Social Affairs L. A. S. C. Rajakaruna, and Director of Volunteer Services H. P. S. Shantha.
