Singapore Eyes Deeper Cooperation with Bangladesh in Trade, Aviation, Education Sectors


Dhaka: Charge d’affaires at the High Commission of Singapore, Mitchel Lee, on Tuesday met Adviser and Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office Mahdi Amin and updated him on Singapore’s ongoing interests in port, logistics, and aviation sectors.



According to United News of Bangladesh, Lee highlighted the digitalisation of airports and other government services, as well as Singapore’s intentions to conclude a bilateral Free Trade Agreement with Bangladesh. Additionally, he discussed potential collaboration on carbon credits and capacity building for government officials.



The discussions also covered cooperation in education and human resource development, focusing particularly on sharing experiences in the vocational education sector. The High Commission of Singapore in Dhaka noted that these areas offer significant opportunities for mutual benefit and growth.



Lee described the meeting as a constructive discussion and expressed his anticipation for further interactions aimed at deepening ties between Bangladesh and Singapore. The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to enhance their partnership across multiple sectors.
