Colombo: The Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee has released the 18-member squad for the upcoming first test match against Bangladesh. This series will feature two matches, with the first test set to begin on 17th June 2025 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
According to Sri Lanka Cricket, the squad includes several experienced players such as Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, and Kusal Mendis, with Dhananjaya de Silva appointed as the captain. The squad also features promising talents like Pathum Nissanka and Oshada Fernando, alongside other key players including Kamindu Mendis, Pasindu Sooriyabandara, and Sonal Dinusha.
The bowlers selected for the test series include Prabath Jayasuriya, Tharindu Ratnayake, Akila Dananjaya, Milan Rathnayake, Asitha Fernando, Kasun Rajitha, and Isitha Wijesundara. Notably, Lahiru Kumara was initially selected for the squad but will be unable to participate due to an injury sustained during practice sessions.
