Sri Lankan High Commission Showcases Cultural Heritage at Pakistan Charity Bazaar.


Islamabad: The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Islamabad participated in the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association (PFOWA) Annual Charity Bazaar – 2024, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan, on 01 December 2024. This event saw a large turnout, with numerous embassies and high commissions, alongside over 20 local charitable organizations and entrepreneurs from Islamabad, actively contributing to the vibrant bazaar.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Sri Lanka, the Charity Bazaar was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar. The event, themed “Joining Hands, Joining Hearts,” was designed to raise funds for charitable activities that assist underprivileged communities. It also served as a platform for diplomats and their families to present their countries’ rich cultural heritage.

y showcasing the country’s tourism, cultural heritage, and a variety of renowned products. Visitors were able to explore offerings such as Ceylon tea, spices, wellness items, handicrafts, and traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, with the highlight being the freshly brewed Ceylon tea available at the stalls.

The consistent participation of the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Islamabad in this annual event underscores the mission’s dedication to promoting Sri Lanka’s culture and products. It also aligns with their ongoing support for charitable initiatives in Pakistan.
