Narayanganj: Three members of a family suffered severe burn injuries in a fire caused by a gas leak in Narayanganj on Friday morning. The victims were identified as Maidul, 24, his wife Beauty, 24, and their eight-year-old son Maruf, all residents of Narayanganj Sadar upazila.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the family members were rescued and taken to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka. Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman, a resident surgeon at the institute, stated that the condition of all three victims is critical. Maidul sustained burns covering 85 percent of his body, while Beauty and Maruf suffered burns on 80 and 90 percent of their bodies, respectively.

The victims are currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the facility.
