Colombo: The low pressure area over the Gulf of Mannar is showing signs of weakening, leading to a gradual reduction in its impact on the island’s weather. This change is expected to affect various regions differently, with varying weather patterns anticipated across the island.
According to News.LK, several spells of showers are anticipated in the Northern, North-central, Uva, and Eastern provinces. There is also a possibility of a few showers occurring in the North-western and Central provinces. Elsewhere on the island, showers or thundershowers may develop at a few locations during the evening or night.
Misty conditions are expected in some parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts during the early morning hours. The public is advised to exercise caution and take necessary precautions to minimize potential damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
