100 Kg of Venison Seized in Sundarbans by Coast Guard

Khulna: Members of the Coast Guard successfully seized 100 kilograms of deer venison during a special operation in Gholer Khal, located in the Koyra upazila of the Sundarbans within the Khulna district.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the operation was launched following a tip-off, with a team from the Coast Guard conducting the drive around 4 pm on Monday. In addition to the venison, they also recovered four meters of deer poaching traps. Lieutenant Commander Md Muntasir Ibne Mohsin of the Coast Guard’s west zone, responsible for media communications, confirmed these details on Tuesday.

Despite the successful recovery of the venison and traps, the Coast Guard team was unable to apprehend any of the poachers, as they managed to flee the scene before arrests could be made. The seized items have since been handed over to the Kagadobeki forest camp in the Sundarbans for further action.
