18th International Research Conference to Focus on Interdisciplinary Research for Sustainable Progress


Colombo: General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University has announced the 18th International Research Conference (KDU IRC-2025), which will be held on September 30 and October 1, 2025, at the university premises. The conference will revolve around the theme ‘Bridging Frontiers: Interdisciplinary Research for Sustainable Progress.’

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, academic staff and researchers are invited to submit Extended Abstracts or Full Papers for presentation. The submission deadline is July 7, 2025. KDU IRC has grown into a significant platform that brings together researchers, academics, professionals, and policymakers from various disciplines to engage in dialogue and present research addressing global challenges.

This year’s conference aims to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and promote innovative approaches for sustainable development. Contributions are welcomed in a wide range of fields, including Defence and Strategic Studies, Management, Social Sciences and Humanities, L
aw, Built Environment and Spatial Sciences, Computing, Engineering, Medicine, Basic and Applied Sciences, and Allied Health Sciences. Submissions should align with the conference tracks to enhance academic discussions.

The participation of universities is anticipated to greatly contribute to the success of this academic event. KDU looks forward to hosting academics, professionals, and researchers at the KDU IRC 2025 to collectively advance knowledge for sustainable progress.
