Dhaka: The 31st Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) is expected to commence on January 1, 2027, as the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has tentatively scheduled this date for the annual event. This decision emerged during the 149th board meeting of the EPB, presided over by Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir, which took place in its conference room.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the board meeting not only proposed the tentative start date but also approved the formation of a steering committee responsible for organizing the DITF 2027. Furthermore, the board made a preliminary decision to lease the venue, the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre located in Purbachal, for the event.

The meeting also sanctioned the international trade fair calendar for the fiscal year 2026-27, to be managed by the EPB. This calendar includes Bangladesh’s participation in 50 international fairs across 27 countries, with a focus on 12 priority sectors.

Commerce Secretary Md Ataur Rahman Khan, EPB Vice Chairman Mohammad Hasan Arif, and Additional Secretary (FTA) of the Commerce Ministry Ayesha Akther were present at the meeting, along with other EPB board members.
