Dhaka: Three people including two women lost their lives and two others were injured when a truck collided with a battery-run auto-rickshaw on the Mymensingh-Kishoreganj highway at Shambhuganj in the Sadar upazila of Mymensingh district.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the victims have been identified as Debraj Ghosh, 35, of Jubili Ghat area, Shila, 25, of Tarakanda upazila, and Abeda Sultana, 35, of Shambhuganj Majhipara area. The incident took place around 12 pm near the Shambhuganj Palli Bidyut office. A speeding truck rammed into the auto-rickshaw, resulting in the immediate death of one individual at the scene and injuring four others, as stated by Shibirul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Police Station.
The injured parties were rushed to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared two more victims dead.
