Colombo: Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte: The outgoing Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, made a farewell call on the Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) at the Defence Ministry.

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, Air Marshal Rajapaksa expressed his gratitude for the support and guidance extended by the Ministry of Defence throughout his tenure. He highlighted the accomplishments achieved under his leadership, emphasizing the synergy between the Air Force and the Ministry in ensuring national security and operational excellence.

In response, the Defence Secretary praised Air Marshal Rajapaksa for his service and dedication to the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF). He recognized the retiring commander’s role in enhancing operational capabilities and fostering professionalism within the SLAF ranks.

The farewell meeting concluded with the sharing of mementoes to mark the occasion. The Defence Secretary extended his best wishes to Air Marshal Rajapaksa for his retirement.
