Colombo: Nearly 100 houses were damaged in Sri Lanka’s north-western province due to strong winds triggered by the prevailing adverse weather conditions, a senior Disaster Management Centre (DMC) officer said yesterday.
According to Nam News Network, DMC media spokesman Pradeep Kodippili stated that they are taking necessary measures to assist residents impacted by the situation. Kodippili mentioned that the Meteorology Department has also advised the public to remain alert, noting that heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm could occur in some areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North Central, Eastern, and North Western provinces in the coming days.
