Katunayake: The luxury bus service operating between the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake, and the Makumbura Multimodal Transport Centre was resumed today, providing passengers with a convenient, comfortable and efficient transport option.
According to News.LK, the service is being operated jointly by Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd. and the National Transport Commission under the guidance of the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development and the Ministry of Ports and Civil Aviation. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes, with a fare of Rs. 410. Buses will operate every 45 minutes from 5.15 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.
Authorities have also conducted special training programmes for drivers and conductors to ensure a high standard of service and passenger safety. The resumption of the service is expected to improve connectivity between the airport and key transport hubs, benefiting both local and foreign travellers while supporting tourism and economic activity in the country.
