Colombo: In an era where child safety is increasingly intertwined with the digital world, a vital cybersecurity awareness program was successfully conducted on 03 June 2026, for the officials of the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA). Organised under the strategic guidance of the Clean Sri Lanka Project, the intensive session aimed to equip the authority with the essential digital defence mechanisms required to protect children in the modern era.
According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, the event was graced by Mrs S.B. Nanayakkara, Director General (Planning) of the NCPA, who attended as the Chief Guest. Deputy Director A.P. Senevirathne also joined the program, underscoring the authority’s high level commitment to strengthening its digital defences.
The program was spearheaded by Brigadier K.V.P. Dhammika USP, Director of the Defence Cyber Command (DCC), alongside a team of expert officers from the DCC. Recognising the urgent need for practical knowledge, the interactive session was structured around comprehensive live demonstrations and hands on exercises.

The session concluded with an engaging Question and Answer forum, allowing NCPA officials to clarify legal and technical complexities directly with the DCC experts. This collaborative initiative ensures that the authority is well prepared to counter emerging digital vulnerabilities and safeguard the nation’s children online.
