Colombo: The outgoing Defence Attach of the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Colonel Muhammad Farooq, paid a farewell call on the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), at the Ministry of Defence.

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, Colonel Farooq was accompanied by the newly appointed Defence Attach of the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Colonel Muhammad Talha Badar, during the courtesy call.

The Defence Secretary appreciated Colonel Farooq’s contribution towards strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and military-to-military relations during his tenure in Sri Lanka and conveyed his best wishes for his future endeavours.

The Defence Secretary also warmly welcomed Colonel Muhammad Talha Badar on his assumption of duties as the new Defence Attach and expressed confidence that the longstanding friendship and defence cooperation between Sri Lanka and Pakistan would continue to grow and flourish during his tenure.
