Dhaka: Prime Minister and Leader of the House Tarique Rahman on Monday participated in a high-level meeting focused on modernising the Jatiya Sangsad’s sound system as authorities considered advanced technological solutions to replace the existing facilities.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the meeting took place at the Cabinet Room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, chaired by Acting Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal. A release from the PM’s Press Wing indicated that several key figures attended the meeting, including Opposition Leader Dr Shafiqur Rahman, Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher, Law Minister Md Asaduzzaman, Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni, Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam, along with senior officials.

During the session, a comprehensive presentation was delivered on various state-of-the-art sound systems currently utilized globally, as part of the initiative to upgrade the existing system in Parliament. The Public Works Department detailed potential technological options, technical capabilities, and an implementation plan for the project.

The presentation emphasized the technical features, functionality, and compatibility of the proposed sound systems with parliamentary proceedings. Participants exchanged views on the proposals and provided necessary guidance regarding the planned replacement.
