‘Invest Bangladesh’ Initiative Aims to Boost Industrial Growth and Investment: Titumir

Dhaka: Prime Minister’s Finance and Planning Adviser Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir announced on Tuesday the introduction of a new growth model, ‘Invest Bangladesh,’ designed to enhance investment in the industrial and manufacturing sectors. This initiative aims to foster sustainable economic development within the country.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the announcement was made during a discussion organized by the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) in the capital, coinciding with the celebration of World Youth Skills Day 2026. The event, which took place on July 15, carried the theme ‘Skills for a Shared Future.’ Dr. Titumir emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring policy stability, streamlining administrative procedures, facilitating access to finance and energy, improving connectivity, and creating productive employment opportunities as key priorities to attract investment.

Dr. Titumir highlighted the crucial role of developing a skilled and competitive workforce for Bangladesh’s economic advancement. He stressed the importance of modernizing education and training curricula and exploring new international labor markets to reintegrate young people who are currently out of the employment, education, and training sectors. The adviser also called for the strengthening of initiatives to deploy skilled workers internationally, particularly to the Middle East, by providing them with globally recognized qualifications and skills certificates.

Additionally, Dr. Titumir underscored the necessity of offering reskilling and upskilling opportunities to align with the evolving demands of the global labor market. He also emphasized the significance of increasing women’s participation in the formal workforce and maximizing the use of the country’s remaining demographic dividend.

State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, Nurul Haque, also spoke at the event, highlighting government initiatives to send skilled and trained workers abroad at reduced costs. He mentioned ongoing efforts to make the country’s economic zones fully operational within the next 18 months and urged the private sector to engage more actively in skills development and entrepreneurship promotion.
