Colombo: The Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo, made farewell visits to the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), and the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), at their respective offices recently. These visits marked the conclusion of his tenure as the 25th Commander of the Sri Lanka Army.
According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, during the separate meetings, both senior officials praised Lieutenant General Rodrigo for his distinguished military career and leadership. They highlighted his efforts in enhancing the operational capabilities and professionalism of the Sri Lanka Army during his service.
The Deputy Minister of Defence and the Defence Secretary extended their best wishes for Lieutenant General Rodrigo’s future endeavors. They expressed sincere appreciation for his invaluable contribution to the nation and thanked him for his dedicated service to the Sri Lanka Army.
