Elected Govt Working to Build a More Prosperous State: Minister Rabiul


Dhaka: Road Transport, Bridges, Railways and Shipping Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam on Wednesday emphasized the government’s commitment to building a prosperous state following the fall of ‘fascism’ and the establishment of a people’s government. The minister expressed these views during a special discussion titled “Shashwata July,” organized by the Dhaka College unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal at the Bir Muktijoddha Shaheed A N M Nazir Uddin Khan Khurram Auditorium of Dhaka College.



According to United News of Bangladesh, Minister Rabiul highlighted the efforts of the elected government, led by Tarique Rahman, in working towards achieving the nation’s desired prosperity. He mentioned that the removal of a fascist regime has paved the way for a government that represents the people, and he emphasized the importance of this transformation for the country’s future.



The minister reflected on the historical significance of the July movement, noting that it taught the nation valuable lessons in self-renewal and reform. He explained that the movement brought about a necessary change in student politics, which was crucial for the country’s progress.



Minister Rabiul also pointed out the need to enhance the quality of educational institutions, aiming to develop them as centers for nurturing future leaders of the country. He praised the legacy of Dhaka College, highlighting the achievements of its alumni in various sectors, including civil administration, police, government departments, ministries, and the armed forces.



The event was attended by the convener of the Dhaka College unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, former teachers, former student leaders, leaders and activists of the Dhaka College Chhatra Dal, and general students, reflecting the broad engagement of the academic community in the discussion.
