Dhaka: Senior journalist and freedom fighter Khondokar Mohammad Abul Hasnat, popularly known as Kismat Khondokar, passed away at a city hospital on Wednesday evening. He was 69.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Kismat Khondokar, a senior correspondent at the online news portal Banglanews24.com and a senior member of the Economic Reporters Forum (ERF), took his last breath at Nagorik Specialized Hospital in Jahurul Islam City (Aftabnagar) around 7:30 pm. Family sources have confirmed his demise.

His nephew, Risat, shared that Kismat Khondokar had been staying at his sister’s residence in Aftabnagar. After suddenly falling ill, he was rushed to the hospital, where he subsequently passed away.

The ERF has stated that he will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Mirzapur, Tangail district, on Thursday. Meanwhile, ERF President Doulot Akter Mala and General Secretary Abul Kashem have expressed their deep sorrow over the loss of Kismat Khondokar.

In a condolence message, they prayed for the eternal peace of his soul and extended their heartfelt sympathies to the grieving family.
