Govt Reconstitutes Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust Board and Executive Committee


Dhaka: The government has reconstituted the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust. The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs issued two separate notifications recently in this regard.



According to United News of Bangladesh, under the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust Act, 2018, the Prime Minister has been appointed as the Chairman of the reconstituted Board of Trustees, with Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan serving as Vice-Chairman. Other members of the board include Dhaka-6 MP Ishraque Hossain, Kishoreganj-4 MP Md Fazlur Rahman, Cumilla-6 MP Md Monirul Haque Chowdhury, Noakhali-2 MP Zainul Abdin Farroque, the Secretary of the Finance Division, the Secretary of the Ministry of Industries, and the Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs. The Managing Director of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust will act as the Member-Secretary.



Meanwhile, the government has also reconstituted the Trust’s Executive Committee under Section 13 of the same Act. Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan has been appointed as the President of the committee. The executive committee members remain the same as those on the trustee board, with the Managing Director of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust serving as the Member-Secretary of the Executive Committee.
