CCGP Approves Tk 16,088 Crore Fuel Import Plan Under G2G Agreements

Dhaka: The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) has given the green light to a proposal for importing refined petroleum products valued at approximately Tk 16,088.52 crore. This decision was made to secure fuel supplies through government-to-government (G2G) agreements with six state-owned foreign suppliers, covering the period from July to December 2026.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the Energy and Mineral Resources Division presented this proposal during a CCGP meeting chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury. The approval marks a significant step in Bangladesh’s efforts to ensure a stable supply of refined fuel oil, based on predetermined premiums, quantities, and current reference prices throughout the six-month period.

The six suppliers involved in this agreement include Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) from the United Arab Emirates, PetroChina from China, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) from India, OQT from Thailand, BSP from Indonesia, and Unipec from China. The CCGP has recommended the final approval of this comprehensive import plan, which aims to bolster the country’s energy security during the specified timeframe.
