Sirajganj: A six-year-old boy tragically drowned while bathing in a pond in Raiganj upazila of Sirajganj. The incident occurred on Tuesday, leaving the local community in mourning.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased, identified as Siam, was the son of Akram Hossain from Sheikhpara village under Chandaikona. The young boy had gone to bathe in a neighboring pond with his friends that afternoon. While his companions returned home after their swim, Siam did not, prompting concern and a subsequent search by his family.

Tragically, the family’s search concluded in the evening when they discovered Siam’s lifeless body in the pond. Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ahsanuzzaman of Raiganj Police Station reported that police recovered the body and handed it over to the family since no complaint was filed regarding the incident. However, a case has been recorded with the police station, confirming the unfortunate event.
