Tangail: At least three people were killed and 17 others injured after a bus collided with a truck in Madhupur upazila of Tangail on Thursday night. The tragic incident unfolded in the Raktipara area on the Tangail-Mymensingh road, involving a Crown Deluxe Paribahan bus and a sand-laden truck.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the accident occurred around 10:00 pm when the bus, travelling towards Madarganj, collided with the truck heading in the opposite direction towards Tangail. Two of the deceased have been identified as Setu Akter, 22, and Tajbir, 8. The collision resulted in the immediate death of three passengers, while at least 17 others sustained injuries.

Local authorities, including police and Madhupur Fire Service officials, responded swiftly to the scene. Fire Service personnel recovered the bodies and rescued the injured from the wreckage. Officer-in-Charge of Madhupur Police Station AKM Fazlul Haque stated that the bodies would be handed over to the families once the legal procedures are completed.
