Dhaka: Police recovered the body of an eight-year-old girl from beside a railway track at Tarakandi village in Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur district on Saturday night. The deceased was identified as Mahmuda, daughter of Idris Molla of Tarakandi village in the upazila.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Rasul Samdani Azad, Officer-in-Charge of Nagarkanda Police Station, stated that Mahmuda had left her house around 5 pm on Saturday and had been missing since then. When her family was unable to find her, they, along with local residents, organized a search operation and eventually discovered her body near the railway tracks around 9 pm.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police recovered Mahmuda’s body and sent it to the Faridpur Medical College and Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The Officer-in-Charge noted that the body bore severe injury marks on the head.
In connection with the case, police have detained three individuals for interrogation. Legal action is anticipated following the autopsy report and the outcomes of the ongoing investigation, as stated by the Officer-in-Charge.
