Barishal: Three people were seriously injured in an explosion at a house in Dudholmou village, located in Bakerganj upazila of Barishal, on Monday morning. The injured individuals have been identified as Hanufa Begum, her daughter Eti, and grandson Fahim.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the explosion took place with a loud bang around 6:00 am at the residence of Shah Alam, leaving the three family members injured. Shah Alam’s son, Jamal, reported that the blast appeared to have originated from a sack of sand that was placed beside the house. The family is uncertain about how the sack came to be there.
The injured were initially taken to Bakerganj Upazila Health Complex for treatment but were later referred to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal for further medical attention.
The blast instilled panic among local residents, drawing a crowd of curious onlookers to the scene. Upon receiving information about the incident, police promptly arrived at the location to manage the situation, according to Adil Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Bakerganj Police Station. The police have collected evidence from the scene and are conducting a thorough investigation into the explosion.
