Bagerhat: Police have recovered important evidence in connection with the triple murder in Kachua upazila and are examining the materials as part of their investigation, while suspected perpetrators are being kept under surveillance. Police have deployed several teams to investigate the killings and are using technology to identify clues and uncover the motive behind the murders. However, no one has been arrested so far.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the killing of a mother, her son, and her elderly mother from a poor family in a remote village has left the local community shocked and grieving. Residents have demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible and exemplary punishment. The victims were identified as Monira Begum, 50, her son Ahat Howlader, 25, and Monira’s mother Rashida Begum, 85.

On Wednesday morning, people of different ages were seen visiting the victims’ home despite light rain and muddy roads. The victims’ relatives and villagers said they could not understand who killed the three members of the family or why. They demanded that the perpetrators be arrested quickly and brought to justice.

Ahat’s elder brother Faisal Howlader filed a case with Kachua Police Station early Wednesday. No one was named as an accused in the case. Ahat’s cousin Jahidul Howlader said he entered the house around noon Tuesday and found Rashida’s body in the first room, while Monira’s bloodied body was lying on the floor of the second room and Ahat’s body was on a nearby bed.

Bagerhat Superintendent of Police Hasan Mohammad Naser Rikabdar said a case had been filed at Kachua Police Station and the investigation was being conducted with utmost importance. ‘We are considering all possible aspects. We have already found an important lead and reached a stage of the investigation that could help uncover the mystery,’ he said. Police recovered the bodies of the two women and the young man from their home in Chandrakhola village on Tuesday evening.
