DMP Arrests 504 in 24-Hour Anti-Crime Drive Across Dhaka

Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 504 people and filed 35 cases during its regular anti-crime drives across the capital in the 24 hours until Sunday morning. Of the total, 34 were arrested by the Ramna division, 39 by Lalbagh, 55 by Wari, 72 by Motijheel, 66 by Tejgaon, 144 by Mirpur, 47 by Gulshan, 40 by Uttara, and seven by the Detective Branch, according to a DMP statement.

According to United News of Bangladesh, during the drives, police recovered various items from the detainees, including a water pump, five mobile phones, three pieces of foil paper, Tk 8,750 in cash allegedly earned from drug sales, 22 rounds of shotgun cartridges, a pair of scissors, an electric shock device, a knife, a switchgear knife, a hacksaw blade, and drugs. The seized narcotics included 29.95 kg of cannabis, 225 Yaba tablets, 35 grams of heroin, and 48 bottles of Eskuf syrup.
