Dhaka: Bangladesh Bank has granted a licence to NEO PSP Limited, a subsidiary of Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd, to operate as a Payment Service Provider (PSP) in Bangladesh. The approval allows NEO PSP to provide electronic payment services under the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2024. This development was confirmed by a notification from Bangladesh Bank, indicating that the licence is subject to conditions outlined in a letter from the central bank dated August 11, 2026.
According to United News of Bangladesh, this new licence will enable NEO PSP to offer payment-related services in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations, as well as the conditions set by the central bank. This move is part of Bangladesh’s efforts to expand its digital financial services ecosystem.
With NEO PSP’s entry into the market, there are now 10 companies licensed to function as payment service providers or e-wallet operators in Bangladesh. The other nine licensed PSPs include iPay Systems Ltd, D Money Bangladesh Ltd, Recursion FinTech Ltd, Green and Red Technologies Ltd, Progoti Systems Ltd, ABG Technologies Limited, Digital Payments Limited, Sheba Fintech Limited, and Shamadhan Services Limited.
